Abstract
A non-planar beam-scanning reflectarray metasurfaces antenna is proposed. This antenna consists of three folded metasurfaces arrays containing 32 x 16 active units, which possess 181 phase difference in the diode on/off state at 9.35 GHz. Non-planar phase compensation is analyzed and calculated. Simulation results indicate that the reflectarray antenna is capable of achieving -50 degrees similar to 50 degrees scanning of pencil-shaped beams in phi = 0 degrees (xo: plane) and phi = 90 degrees (yo: plane), according to the discrete phase distribution in convex and concave shapes. Both the gain and HPBW in the example are acceptable. This design has potential applications in future reconfigurable intelligence surface and phased-array antenna.
