摘要
In cultured cell facilities, contaminations of cultivated cells are perhaps the most usual problem, with highly dangerous consequences. The two main categories of cell culture contaminants are contaminants (chemical), like as defects in media, sera and water, endotoxins, plasticisers and detergents, and micropollutants, such as bacteria, moulds, yeasts, viruses and mycoplasma, along with cross-contamination by different cell lines. Although it gets difficult to eliminate contamination, it is attainable to lessen its occurrence and sobriety by gaining knowledge about its origins and using effectual aseptic techniques. This chapter discusses the various possible types of contamination that cell cultures or cell lines can encounter along with their effects on the cell’s growth and propagation and possible remedial methods to not contain them and also eliminate them.
