Single Airway Co-Exposure to Peanut and an Environmental Adjuvant Increases the Risk of Oral Peanut Sensitization

There is increasing evidence that environmental exposures to foods through the skin or respiratory tract cause allergic sensitization, whereas oral exposure results in tolerance. We previously reported that repeated airway co-exposures to peanut and environmental adjuvants could promote systemic allergic sensitization. Here we investigated if a single airway co-exposure to peanut with an environmental adjuvant was a risk factor for oral sensitization to peanut.
