Temperature Fluctuation Causes Skin Barrier Dysfunction

Children born in the fall have increased risk for developing atopic dermatitis and food allergy, two conditions associated with skin barrier dysfunction. Prior studies demonstrated that acute exposure to low temperature causes skin barrier dysfunction; it is unknown what pattern of climate changes affect the skin barrier.
