Mnox-Doped 3d Porous Silicon as Cathode Material for Aqueous Rechargeable Zinc-Ion Battery

MnOx decorated 3D porous silicon (MnOx@P-Si) is synthesized and designed in this paper. MnOx@P-Si has good cycling stability and reversibility due to the unique porous structure of P-Si and the co-effect of MnSO4 and ZnSO4 in the electrolyte. Specifically, it also exhibits specific capacity of 242.6 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1, remaining about 149.7 mAh g−1 after 400 cycles. In addition, the mechanism of Zn2+/H+ de-embedding in MnOx@P-Si has been systematically studied and discussed by a variety of analytical methods. This study provides a new idea for the design of low-cost and high-performance rechargeable Mn-based aqueous rechargeable zinc-ion batteries (ARZIBs).
