Mangrove Food Web Structure and Isotopic Niche

Since 1980 stable isotopes have emerged as one of the primary tools for mangrove food web, structure, and dynamics analysis. This chapter presents (1) a 40 years review of mangrove food web research through stable isotopes data, and presents a discussion focused on (2) the isotopic composition of mangrove basal resources, (3) carbon sources supporting mangrove food webs, (4) isotopic niche, (5) mangrove consumers’ trophic enrichment factors, and (6) the study of anthropogenic impacts on mangrove food webs through stable isotope analysis.
