Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel method for estimating parameters of human vital signs in a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system. Specifically, we first introduce the signal model of human vital signs in the FMCW radar system. Then, the Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) and variational mode decomposition-Hilbert transform (VMD-HT) algorithms are used on the signal components after pre-processing to estimate respiratory rate (RR) and heart rate (HR), respectively. Finally, the simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.
