OLEDs: Emerging technology trends and designs

Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) have recently been adopted as one of the traditional display technologies due to its unique striking features. However, improvement in certain areas of performance such as internal quantum efficiency, quantum yield, etc. is highly essential. Hence, this contribution reports an overview of these issues, starting with fundamentals of OLEDs, followed by fabrication techniques, various means to evaluate their performance, novel design considerations, key challenges, latest emerging technology, and trends in this field of OLEDs.
