摘要
Since the ancient period, the pathogenic bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis has been affecting mankind and has become a cause of contagious disease—tuberculosis. However, to globally overcome the health issues against MDR and XDR TB, there is an urgency to streamline more inputs for the development of novel anti-mycobacterial drugs derived from natural sources, including plants and available microorganisms. The natural product derived from the plants could be one of the prolific sources for the treatment of TB. Due to the several therapeutic effects and availability of diverse chemical and biological constituents, plants are the primary source of drug synthesis. The majority of natural product collections begin with fresh extracts or shade dried materials made by dissolving in several kinds of organic solvents. Inhibitory activity against M. tuberculosis has been found in a variety of natural substances, including extracts from all parts of plants, microbes, and aquatic organisms.
