Design Of Stepped Bow Tie Antenna For Ultrawideband Applications

In this era of digitization, where each device is turning into smart device, there is a need of ultra-wideband technology (UWB) to accommodate large amount of data which can fulfil many of the user requirements like greater accuracy, less latency etc. In this paper, a stepped bow-tie antenna is proposed for UWB applications from 2.97-15 GHz frequency band. Defected ground approach has been taken for size reduction. The measured VSWR is 2:1 and gain is 4 dBi. Overall dimension of antenna is 36 x 30 x 1.6 mm(3) and it is applicable for indoor environments.
