Cutting Forces in Vibration Assisted Cutting

As we all known, cutting forces play a fundamental and important role in machining because they are closely related to tool wear, shear deformation, cutting energy and machining quality etc. Therefore, it is of great necessity to establish a reliable force model to gain a better understanding of VAC. For a complex cutting process, the reduction of cutting forces was widely reported. Researchers tried to explain the reason of this phenomenon through the increase in a shear angle and the decrease in friction.
