•Biogenic Platinum Nanoparticles were Synthesized using Syzygium aromaticum exract.•Cancer and epithelial tissue cells showed cytotoxic effect.•In Direct methanol fuel cell, an anodic current value of 5.42 mA.cm-2 was obtained.
