Abstract
The Cover Feature illustrates steps of the SO2 oxidation mechanism on Au electrodes, for H2 generation at lower overpotentials than water electrolysis. SO2 can be oxidized through different pathways and an oscillatory regime can be obtained due to catalytic poisoning and self-cleaning. Factors regarding the mass transport influence on it, anti-Levich behavior, and how controlling variables like potential and rotation rate affect the outcome are elucidated.
