Risk and uncertainty in cooperative business

Cooperatives, like all organizations, make decisions when there is risk and uncertainty. However, many use different strategies to mitigate risk. This chapter describes different types of risk and uncertainty and some mitigation efforts agricultural cooperatives use. The chapter discusses future research needed to understand the optimality of various cooperatives' risk mitigation efforts.
