Abstract
With great interest we read the article “Parameters of the Lyman model for calculation of normal tissue complication probability: A systematic literature review” by Dennstädt et al. 1 Dennstädt F, Medova M, Putora P, Glatzer M. Parameters of the Lyman model for calculation of normal tissue complication probability: A systematic literature review 2022 Aug 24 [e-pub ahead of print]. Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys. doi: 10.1016/j.ijrobp.2022.08.039, accessed August 24, 2022. Google Scholar In this article it is concluded that heterogeneity of the data basis exists as well as large variations of published radiobiological parameters for the Lyman model. For parotid gland dysfunction, however, this variation is proven to be no longer present.
