The risk of stroke is 5-30 times higher in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), especially on dialysis. The case fatality rate is also higher, reaching almost 90%. Therefore, it is important to understand the factors that influence stroke in this vulnerable population in order to better implement prevention strategies.
