摘要
Abstract When you’re in unfamiliar territory without shared scaffoldings or schemas to guide you, it may take you a bit longer to get the hang of things before you begin to feel comfortable. Don’t be surprised if you and a friend remember different aspects of a shared experience if your background, knowledge, and expertise is different. There are benefits—and drawbacks—to remembering information together while working or studying. We recommend that you study both in groups and by yourself. This way you get the best of both approaches. Reminiscing with family, friends, and colleagues can boost your mood and help you feel connected with people even if you haven’t seen them in a long time. You are likely to fill in the gaps of your own memories with memories of someone you trust.
