Histological Structure of the Broiler Liver Upon the Backdrop of Satureja Montana L. Essential Oil

AbstractThe effect of Satureja Montana L. essential oil (EO) on the “Cobb-500” broilers liver based on the histological studies data was studied. The essential oil in dosages from 0.05 to 0.15 ml per 1 kg of feed to experimental groups chickens diets was added. The liver cells of the chickens of the experimental groups did not differ from those of the control group. The differences during morphometric studies were revealed. The number of cells in the field of view increases upon the backdrop of EO using with a simultaneous decrease in cell size. An increased number of young cells indicates this fact. The accumulation of polysaccharides and lipid droplets in the chickens of the experimental groups was noted. Thus, these factors are demonstrate that the Satureja Montana L. essential oil provides a hepatoprotective effect on the liver of broiler chickens.KeywordsAgriculturePlantsEssential oilBroiler chickens
