Improving Simulation-Measurement Correlation for Compact Wi-Fi Laptop Antenna

The article proposes very compact flexible Wi-Fi 6E antenna (23 x 10 x 0.135 mm3), specifically designed for laptop systems. The S11 of the proposed antenna within laptop environment is better than -6 dB and efficiency in the range of - 3.5 dB. Various causes of mismatch between simulated and measured results have been identified, specifically for internal antennas. Also, a MATLAB tool is developed to find the correlation between simulated and measured results. The percentage correlation is improved from 30% to 88% (minimum) using the proposed mitigation techniques.
