Production and Characterization of Helical Beams by means of Diffraction Gratings

A description of the intensity distribution patterns of helical beams experimentally generated by forked diffraction gratings is presented. The characterization of the diffraction orders so obtained, using double diffraction gratings as well as the reconstruction of the 2D intensity profiles, is also discussed.
