Abstract
This paper presents an aeroacoustics-driven piezoelectric energy generator (APEG) containing a tapered Helmholtz resonator (HR) and piezoelectric circular transducer (PCT) unit to scavenge wind energy. Through the tapered Helmholtz resonator will reduce the acoustic resistance and increase the highest sound absorption coefficient attainable to enhance the performance of Helmholtz resonator. With the help of the chemical mechanical thinning method and simulation, PCT unit is optimized to match the resonant cavity to achieve maximize power. At a flow rate of 170 L/min, the APEG delivers high output peak to peak voltage of 20 V, and large average output power of 21.3 mW at 1.5 k Omega.
