Online Long-Distance Monitoring of Subway Vibration Reduction Effect Using Ultra-Weak Fiber Bragg Grating Arrays

•The ultra-weak fiber Bragg grating (UWFBG) arrays are used for online long-distance monitoring of subway vibration reduction effect, and applied to verify the feasibility in Wuhan Metro Line 8.•Two parallel fiber optic cables of UWFBG arrays are separately laid on the track bed and tunnel wall of the metro line for the real-time acquisition of the dynamic response signals of passing train. The vibration reduction effect is calculated and analyzed using UWFBG arrays.
