An analysis of temperature treatment of biodiesel fuel on engine performance

The study aimed to analyze the initial temperature treatment of Biodiesel fuel before entering the injection pump on the performance of the diesel engine. The parameter of engine performance testing was the produced exhaust gas opacity using a smoke tester. The test was performed by varying the temperature of 30° C -100° C and engine speed of 2000-4500 rpm. The fuel was Biosolar, produced by PT. Pertamina with a composition of 80% diesel fuel and 20% biodiesel fuel. The test showed an effect of the initial temperature of the fuel on the opacity of the exhaust gas. The higher the given temperature, the lower the exhaust gas opacity value.
