Research on Cascaded H-Bridge Five-level Inverter and Permanent Magnetic Linear Synchronous Motor Control System

In order to verify and test the modulation strategy and control principle of Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) multilevel inverter driving ultra-high speed linear motor, this paper designs an experimental platform and control system based on CHB five-level inverter driving permanent magnetic linear synchronous motor. The simulation models of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor control system and CHB five- level inverter are established by PSIM after analyzing their mathematical models. The control system uses double closed- loop, in which the current loop adopts vector control and the speed loop adopts PI control. The simulation results indicate that the Carrier Phase Shift Sine Pulse Width Modulation (CPS- SPWM) and double closed-loop control strategy adopted in this paper is reasonable and in line with the actual operation performance of inverter and motor, which speeds up the process of actual system design and debugging. Finally, the experimental research is carried out. The experimental results indicate that the permanent magnetic linear synchronous motor control system can achieve good control effect, rapid response, good stability, high reliability and certain practical value. It lays a foundation for the follow-up research of high-power energy storage inverter system and ultra-high speed linear motor control system.
