Abstract
The solid-state reaction method was used to create a nanocrystalline NdMn0.7Ni0.3O3 sample. The orthorhombic crystal structure with the Pbnm space group was confirmed by Rietveld refinement fitting of the X-ray diffraction data using the FullProf tool. Bond lengths and bond radii were calculated together with other structural characteristics. Micrographs taken with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) at various magnifications reveal consistency across the sample, and a particle size estimate in the micron range. The EDX spectrum shows that the sample is completely free of contaminants. Using UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy and Tauc's plot, energy bandgap is found to be 2.59 eV. The crystallite size calculated by Scherrer method is obtained to be 38 nm.
