Fast Multiphysics Analysis of Acoustic Wave Resonators Using Spectral Element Time Domain With Matrix Pencil Method

In this article, we develop a fast multiphysics computational technique combining the spectral element time-domain (SETD) method with the matrix pencil method (MPM) to analyze radio frequency (RF) acoustic wave resonators and filters. The results show that the MPM can effectively shorten the SETD method simulation time for surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonators with guaranteed accuracy and can also extrapolate the time-domain data of double-mode SAW filter oscillations. In order to obtain accurate parameters without further SETD computations, the truncated time record is efficiently extended into the future by summing the complex exponentials with complex coefficients using MPM. The theory of such processing is presented, and three examples are analyzed to illustrate the efficiency of the method.
