Abstract
The development of electric vehicles (EVs) is an effective strategy to alleviate the global energy shortage and environmental pollution. The popularity of EVs makes the charging requirements to be more efficient and safer. Due to the high isolation performance, wireless power transfer (WPT) technologies are popularized in EV charging to replace traditional cable charging. However, the system power transfer efficiency is a crucial consideration for this scenario because the power level is very high. To improve the system efficiency, this paper focuses on the study of the switching conduction loss of the WPT system for EV charging and proposes an effective soft switching method to improve the system efficiency. In addition, the output voltage can be well regulated under the proposed method. A group of simulation results is carried out on the PSIM software to verify the proposed method.
