A Simple Equivalent Circuit Model for Metasurface Based Reflection-Type Polarization Converter

Abstract
A simple equivalent circuit model (ECM) is proposed to characterize reflection-type polarization converters comprising anisotropic metasurfaces. The impedance matrix of the metasurface in the xy coordinate system is obtained by multiplying the impedance matrix in the diagonal axis with a rotated matrix. The diagonal impedance matrix can be calculated by a simple LC series-parallel circuit. Some typical polarization converters with different metasurface shapes are demonstrated to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
