摘要
BACKGROUND Little information is known about the public’s attitude change towards the multiple shots of COVID-19 vaccines. OBJECTIVE we aimed to comprehensively understand public’s attitude and behavior changes towards multiple shots of COVID-19 vaccines. METHODS Participants’ attitude and behavior towards each shot of COVID-19 vaccines were investigated, and a scale of vaccination burnout was designed to assess participants' attitude change. RESULTS Of 3068 valid participants, 2991 participants had finished the routine two shots of COVID-19 vaccine. Among them, 79.14% participants had positive attitudes towards the routine two shots. However, 9.8% participants who previously had positive attitudes towards the basic vaccination had refused to take additional multiple shots, and another 3.5% participants who also changed their attitudes though having taken the third shot. These participants had higher scores of vaccination burnout than people with consistently positive vaccine attitudes(P<.001). Frequency of active attention to COVID-19 news, occupation, monthly income, and residence of the participants were the main factors associated with the vaccination burnout. CONCLUSIONS A phenomenon of vaccination burnout towards multiple shots was comprehensively reported. We suggest to take measures to ensure the acceptance and coverage of the subsequent multiple shots of COVID-19 vaccines.
