Intelligent Direct Power Control Based on the Neural Super-Twisting Sliding Mode Controller of a DFIG

In this recent research article, intelligent nonlinear direct power control (DPC) was proposed to ensure the good functioning of DFIGs during faults in the electrical distribution grid and to ensure the control of the powers of the stator through the injection of the reactive power into the electrical distribution grid in order to guarantee the return of voltage. This proposed intelligent nonlinear control is based on artificial neural networks and a super-twisting sliding mode controller. While the DPC with super-twisting sliding mode controllers has important active and reactive power fluctuations, the designed DPC based on neural-super-twisting sliding mode algorithm controller (NSTSMC) downplays the active and the reactive power fluctuations and reduces the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the currents. The design and simulation of this proposed intelligent nonlinear approach control; for a 1.5 kW-DFIG; show its simplicity and effectiveness compared to the vector control scheme.
