Tangible Application of Gamification for Teaching Spatial Topics to Blind People Based on Universal Design for Learning

This paper presents the design of a digital educational game to achieve learning that implements tangible user interfaces with Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The objective of this game is to teach spatial topics to blind people, such as directions and identification of sounds within our environment. Different challenges are presented through audio with the objective of interacting with different tangible elements that are part of the digital educational game providing auditory feedback of their performance and different gamification elements. It shows how methodology has been followed, challenges and missions that are part of the digital educational game are presented, UDL guidelines that have been applied and how they converge with the gamification elements.
