Abstract
Solar radiation is one of the most affordable energy intensive of all renewable energies as in Ouarzazate, a city known by the use of solar energy resource. The climate change system manifests many changes in this energy by absorption of solar radiation by the atmosphere and earth surface, and infrared radiation is also affected by this absorption. Using our model ACRA19, that describes the regional radiative balance with corresponding atmosphere components like temperature, incoming solar radiation at the top of the atmosphere, optical depth and surface albedo, we determine the absorptivity of solar radiation a1 that observes high values during summer 0.27 for 500 nm. The reflectivity of solar radiation by the atmosphere r1 is close to 0.36. This shows that the desert aerosols may attenuate solar radiation by either reflection or absorption at the level where the solar incident flux reaching the earth surface drops to 170 W.m−2.
