Comparative analysis of condition assessment standards for roads and bridges based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation

In order to improve the structural condition assessment standards of asphalt pavement and concrete beam bridges, a new road and bridge composite evaluation index (RBCEI) parameter was proposed to evaluate the condition of asphalt pavements and concrete girder bridges. The correlations between the strength indexes of asphalt pavement and concrete beam bridge conditions are established in this research. The results indicate that the evaluating standards of asphalt pavement conditions are lower than those of concrete beam bridge conditions. Through a comprehensive analysis of the RBCEI evaluating indexes of asphalt pavement and concrete beam bridge conditions, the technical departments of bridge and highway operations and maintenance divisions should pay more attention to the opportunity of serving roads and bridges.
