Efficient swapping of orbital angular momentum of light in double-cascade type multiple quantum wells

Abstract
In a multiple quantum well nanostructure (MQW), we propose a unique model for the effective exchange of light’s orbital angular momentum. The biexciton-exciton cascade arrangement of the multiple quantum well interacts with two strong coupling laser beams that can exchange orbital angular momentum (OAM). It is possible to generate a weak signal light and achieve the same OAM state of the coupling lights according to the four-wave mixing process in MQW. We analyze the exchange efficiency-related controllable aspects and discover that the highly efficient exchange of the generated light is made feasible by modifying the optical characteristics. Additionally, for various OAM numbers of optical vortex lights, we describe the spatially dependent absorption spectrum of the generated signal light.
