Refining life cycle nutrient modeling in organic pig production. An analysis focusing on feeding strategies in organic Danish pig farming

•Sub-systems were considered in nutrient modeling.•N emission factors for housing and paddocks adjusted to organic farming were identified.•Organic-specific N content data for manure were employed.•Feeding strategies were analyzed for sows only and sows and fattening pigs.•Changes in feeding strategy led to reductions of 0–13% in the environmental impacts.
