Abstract
An element-by-element finite-element method (EBE-FEM) for coupling fields and circuits is presented. EBE-FEM is a parallel algorithm in which large-scale global computations are decomposed into mutually independent local computations without assembling the global coefficient matrix. The electromagnetic correlation matrix is proposed to establish the relationship between each element and the whole domain in the magnetic field equation and the relationship between element and branch in the circuit equation, which is composed by node transition matrix and branch transition matrix. The proposed method has been validated and applied to analyze the magnetic field and currents of a transformer.
