Towel induced reflex seizures

•Towel induced seizures is a subtype of reflex seizures not previously described in the literature.•We hypothesise that some of this patients seizures occur due to intrinsic reflex pathways.•These seizures begin in the limbic cortex of the left temporal lobe due to thinking about towels and associated emotions.•The remaining seizures occur due to the extrinsic pathway, most commonly due to touch and smell of the towel.
