Abiotic stresses are the prominent limiting factors for the quality and productivity of crops. Crop plants need to cope with environmental and edaphic adverse conditions at physiological, biochemical, and molecular levels and causing failure of growth, development, and productivity. Trichoderma, the most natural dwellers of diverse environments reveal diversified metabolic capabilities to mitigate abiotic stresses. The colonization and interaction of Trichoderma with crops reveal the integrity of the crop microbiome and restrain local and systemic mechanisms in plants to combat with abiotic stress conditions. Under the constant pressure of increasing environmental alterations, it now becomes more imperative to describe and understand plant–microbe relationships in terms of shield against abiotic stresses. Trichoderma evolved as the best alternative for the alleviation of abiotic stresses.
