Surface display of pancreatic lipase inhibitor peptides by engineered Saccharomyces boulardii: Potential as an anti-obesity probiotic

•The probiotic yeast Saccharomyces boulardii was engineered to display-two different Pancreatic Lipase Inhibitor peptides.•The engineered probiotic strains demonstrated significant inhibitory effects against pancreatic lipase in vitro.•Oral administration of these engineered probiotics resulted in weigh loss and reduced levels of serum lipids in an In vivo model of obesity.
