Role of TiO2 in modifying elastic moduli and enhancing in vitro bioactivity of fluorophosphate glasses

•Addition of TiO2 into fluorophosphate network brought the elastic moduli down to 66.24 GPa.•No cytotoxicity was observed up to 1% of TiO2 containing glass.•Enhanced apatite forming ability was observed during the addition of TiO2 content.•Increase the intensity of crystalline HAp peak was noted in XRD pattern as a function of TiO2. content.
