Optimization of Energized Dispersive Guided extraction (EDGE) of antioxidants from Eugenia uniflora L. (Pitanga) leaves using response surface methodology

•A new technology, Energized Dispersive Guided Extraction (EDGE), was used.•Compounds from Eugenia uniflora L. leaves were extracted by EDGE.•It was optimized by central composite design and response surface methodology.•The findings may be of interest to further studies with this extraction technique.•The findings demonstrate the potential of the extract for phytotherapy studies.
