摘要
•Effect of sulfur precursors on morphology of hydrothermally grown molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanostructures have been investigated.•Thioacetamide sulfur precursors yielded the predominant MoS2 nanosheets.•XRD and Raman spectroscopy revealed the mixed (2H/1T) MoS2 phase.•Nanosheets exhibited better photocatalytic activity than that of aggregates and agglomerate structures of MoS2.
