Field Control Grid Connected DFIG Turbine System

Power supply networks have greatly benefitted from the renewable source of energy. The potential of wind power generation has tremendously increased in response to the rising consumption for producing electricity from renewable source of energy. This paper outlines grid-voltage oriented vector control, a control approach for a grid-side converter. With this control strategy, it is possible to retain a unity pf and manage the flow of power of the grid side and obtain the stable DC link Voltage. A d-q ref frame is used for the mathematical model. We aim to gain an understanding of the grid connected DFIG turbine system in this paper. We begin by developing a DFIG model of the entire system in Park’s coordinates. After that, a Field Oriented Control (FOC) is used to decoupling the torque and reactive power. Controlling purposes are accomplished with linear PI controllers. The grid-side converter (GSC) is responsible for controlling the Dc link voltage. Active and reactive power are controlled using pulse width modulation (PWM). MATLAB/Simulink simulation is used to validate the study’s results pertaining to grid converter problems.
