Minimizing the Power Consumption of Active Electronically Scanned Array Antenna Used in LEO Broadband Access Systems

摘要
The analysis of the active electronically scanned array (AESA) power consumption of the user terminal of the LEO broadband access communication system is presented. It is shown that it is possible to achieve noticeable savings in energy consumption and, accordingly, heat generation of the transmitting AESA by turning off groups of AESA’s channels when tracking a satellite. At the same time, it is shown that such a solution is impractical for a receive AESA.
