Abstract
In this paper, a novel adaptive state estimator is proposed for Zinc-Ion batteries, based on second-order Sliding Mode Control (SMC). As these batteries involve nonlinear terms and uncertainties in their dynamic model, a nonlinear estimator is necessary to estimate their State of Charge (SOC). The conventional sliding mode observers undergo the chattering phenomena. However, the proposed adaptive Super Twisting Sliding Mode Control (STSMC) based observer has overcome this drawback. Furthermore, the convergence time decreases. In this paper, to prove the Lyapunov stability for the proposed observer, some simulation results are presented to validate its functionality in SOC estimation of Zinc-Ion batteries.
