Abstract

•Pt/BN(O) nanocomposites with extremely low Pt content obtained by wet thermochemical method.•At 0.0085 wt% of Pt, noble metal is present only in the form of single atoms and clusters.•BN(O) with 0.0085% Pt shows CO2 specific productivity of 176 molCO2/gPt/h at 300 °C.•Pt/BN(O) exhibits decent catalytic properties in CO oxidation and superior catalytic stability.
