77. Co-Occurring ASD+ADHD is Associated With Shared and Distinct Alterations in White Matter Microstructure

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are related but distinct neurodevelopmental disorders that commonly co-occur. Prior studies of ASD or ADHD suggest that the two disorders display overlapping alterations in white matter microstructure, but our understanding of such differences in co-occurring ASD+ADHD is more limited. Here we therefore used diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to investigate white matter microstructure among over 900 individuals with ASD (no ADHD), ADHD (no ASD), ASD+ADHD, and neurotypical development.
