Abstract
Anxious people display reduced resting-state functional connectivity (rs-FC) between the amygdala and the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC; Xu et al., 2019), which may underlie emotion regulatory difficulties (Li et al., 2020). However, this work focuses primarily on affluent white samples and should be replicated in minoritized children who may have unique experiences (e.g., discrimination) that influence rs-FC (Clark et al., 2018). We examine whether trait anxiety influences whole-brain amygdala rs-FC among Latina girls.
