Abstract
Heavy drinking in patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD) is highly automatic, suggestive of deficits in cognitive control. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for AUD that is thought to improve cognitive control. However, the neural mechanisms underlying the effects of CBT on cognitive control in AUD remain unclear.
