摘要
Psychiatric conditions such as depression and anxiety are often studied in isolation despite heavy comorbidity with other affective disorders. However, a transdiagnostic approach to understanding the relationship between affect and neural connectivity may reveal unique mechanistic insights and opportunities for intervention. We used data from the Epilepsy Connectome Project to test for differences in negative affect between healthy controls and patients with temporal lobe epilepsy – a prevalent neurological disorder also associated with altered affect. We further examined whether machine learning can quantify these affective differences using structural connectivity.
